Charlotte Hancock is the senior director for Generation Progress. She has twelve years of experience crafting and implementing advocacy campaigns, digital strategies, and media narratives for think tanks, brands, nonprofits, and advocacy organizations. She’s passionate about creating digital advocacy campaigns with young people on the issues they care about, including civic engagement, post-secondary education, student debt, and consumer protections.

She also oversees GP's Higher Ed, Not Debt campaign, previously serving as its program director and as its digital manager. The campaign is a multi-year, multi-organizational project dedicated to ensuring that an affordable higher education is affordable and accessible to all, without the burden of debt or financial hardship.

Charlotte joined GP from the Society for Neuroscience, where she served as the media communications coordinator and grew and managed the society's global, digital, and social media presence. Previously, she worked as an on-air reporter and social media coordinator for the CBS affiliate WMNS in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Charlotte was born and raised in the U.S. Virgin Islands and graduated from the College of William and Mary with a B.A. in English. In her spare time she enjoys sampling D.C.'s ice cream offerings and growing flowers.
